Prepare this delightful tropical-flavored Dominican treat using GOYA® Masarepa, rich GOYA® Coconut Milk, raisins, cinnamon sticks and brown sugar. Sweet and simple, this mouthwatering dessert is ready in just an hour. After baking, pair with a warm cup of coffee and enjoy!
GOYA® Unsalted Stick Butter
3 ½ cups
1 ½ cups
packed brown sugar
Preheat oven 350° F. Grease a 9” round baking pan.
In a large cooking pot combine masarepa, milk, coconut milk, salt, raisins, cinnamon and sugar.
Once combined, heat on the stove over medium high heat. Stir constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
Once the batter comes to a boil reduce the heat on low. Continue to stir, Remove when it thickens to yogurt-like consistency.
Make sure to remove cinnamon sticks.
Pour the batter into prepared baking pan. Baked until arepa is golden brown on top about 40 mins. (insert a knife in the center to check) Allow the arepa to cool before removing it from the pan. Serve.
My fave Dominican dessert!!
