Black Beans and Rice is the perfect family side dish. It’s fast and affordable, and everyone loves the taste. A black bean and rice dish is more than satisfying, too—it’s packed with protein for a nutritious meal.
Our recipe for rice and beans can’t be easier. You make it with GOYA® Canned Beans, so you won’t mind when your family requests it again and again.
GOYA® Ground Cumin
GOYA® Minced Garlic
GOYA® Oregano Leaf
GOYA® Golden Cooking Wine
2 cans (15.5 oz. each)
GOYA® Low-Sodium Black Beans, undrained
GOYA® Bay Leaves
GOYA® White Distilled Vinegar
dry CANILLA® Extra Long Grain Rice, cooked according to package directions
Finely chopped white onions
Fresh cilantro leaves
Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add cumin, garlic, oregano and Sazón Natural and Complete to pot. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add wine; bring to a boil. Add 1 cup water, beans, bay leaves, brown sugar and vinegar to pot; bring bean mixture to a boil. Reduce to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens and flavors come together, about 15 minutes.
Season beans with Adobo Light; discard bay leaf.
Divide beans evenly among serving dishes. Garnish with onions and cilantro, if desired. Serve with rice
